Hello muffins,

just dropping by to update my artistic journey!

Lately, I've been revisiting some Australia-themed dreamscape artworks I have conceptualised, and begun developing these ideas into sketches, sketches into mock-ups and so-on. I think there's something very magical and earthy about this country and I feel it would be fitting to create an exhibition depiciting my vision of what Australia is to me. I've been spending a bit of time trying to figure out exactly why it is I want to paint and share my creations with everyone, and I've finally realised what it is, as well as more about myself and my style. I've updated this in my deviantID box but I'll share it here as well. I've realised that above all else, I concern myself with negating the effects of disenchantment in society; of re-establishing a feeling of mystery and wonder in our everyday lives, of creating the possibility that which exists around us has hidden elements and traits. I believe this to be extremely important in my art. Whenever I have an artist's block (like, right now) I think remembering this will help me create.

Also, I am being published! YAQ (Youth Arts Qld) are putting together a book showcasing 150 young Queensland artists as part of the Q150 celebrations - which is celebrating 150 years of the state of Queensland. I am so excited! It is being released in November.

As a spur-of-the-moment something-to-do, I decided to try out custom painting shoes as a Christmas present for my boyfriend. I am SO pleased with the results, but not sure whether to share them on this account or not as they are completely unrelated to my artworks. I think I might do some more custom shoe designs as I loved the results so much.

Anyway, better get back to finishing my last few assignments. Two weeks to go until end of the semester! :)

------------------------------------------
I am a Brisbane-based, passionate artist from a realm of starlit dreams, who loves vibrant colour and vivid imagination. I have been drawing for my whole life, painting for 6 years, and aspire to thread happiness, paint curiosity and inspire wonder in others who view my work.

My work consists of commissions for clients, community projects, collaborations, and painting and drawing for my own liesure. I draw inspiration from my natural surroundings, freedom, movement and space, as well as line and colour. Above all else, though, I concern myself with negating the effects of disenchantment in society; of re-establishing a feeling of mystery and wonder in our everyday lives, of creating the possibility that which exists around us has hidden elements and traits. I believe this to be extremely important in my art.

My favourite mediums are acrylics, ink pen and canvas! I enjoy twilight walks to nearby parks, genuine smiles, the feel of autumn leaves and the sound of the wind by the ocean.
